1 Warm Up Page

Warm-up Exercises

Open an Appleworks, Word Processing file.
Go to Format in the menu bar and drag to "Insert Header"
Change the size to 24 and type your first and last name
Go to Format in the menu bar and drag to "Insert Footer
Change the size to 24 and type your first and last name

Click in the middle of the page so your cursor is blinking just under your name at the top of the page.
Change your size to 14
Change your font to "Comic Sans MS"

At the beginning of each new page, you will type the page number

Now, Go to Text in the menu bar and drag to the text color box

Change your color to green and then type "Page 1"

Do each pattern
Type two complete rows with a space in between each set

As you type, say the
letters out loud to yourself

1. asdf - asdf ------> left hand only

2. asdf - asdf ------> left hand only

1. jkl; - jkl; ------> right hand only

2. jkl; - jkl; ------> right hand only

1. asdfjkl; - asdfjkl; -------> both hands

2. asdfjkl; - asdfjkl; -------> both hands

1. ;lkjfdsa - ;lkjfdsa -------> both hands

2. ;lkjfdsa; - ;lkjfdsa -------> both hands

As you type, remember to say the letters out loud to yourself

Left hand exercises -
Type five of each pattern spelled and spaced correctly
Each finger is responsible for a set of letters
Your little finger types a - q - z
Your litle finger is also responsible for the shift key

Use your little finger to type the following pattern

aqaz aqaz aqaz aqaz aqaz - Then push return when 5 are typed correctly

Use your ring finger to type the following pattern

swsx swsx swsx swsx swsx - Push return when 5 are typed correctly

Use your middle finger to type the following pattern

dedc dedc dedc dedc dedc - Push return when 5 are typed correctly

Your left index finger is responsibile for the following six keys - rt, fg, vb

Begin typing the exercises below with your left index finger
